Robert J. Davis

Robert J. Davis, of Pembroke, formerly of Dorchester, a man known for his infectious laughter and kind-hearted spirit, passed away on June 11, 2024. He was 70.

Born in Boston on June 18, 1953, he was one of eight children born to the late John and Dorothy (Phelan) Davis.

Robert, a lifelong enthusiast of rock and roll and blues music, had a zest for life that was evident to all who knew him. His passion for the simple pleasures, like sipping a Mai Tai cocktail while enjoying the gentle sway of his boat on his pond, was matched only by his love for live music and the thrill of a Boston sports game.

Robert's Sundays were sacred, a time when the aroma of his famous breakfast would fill the home, a tradition he cherished and shared with all who were dear to him. Thanksgiving was another highlight, with Robert at the helm in the kitchen, crafting a feast that was as much a display of his culinary skills as it was of his generosity.

His humor was as legendary as his kindness, making every gathering brighter and every memory sweeter. Friends recall his uncanny ability to crack jokes that would leave everyone in stitches, a testament to his quick wit and jovial nature.

A fan of Western movies, Robert found solace and excitement in tales of the Wild West, often reminiscing about childhood trips to the White Mountains and long drives to Florida to visit family. These moments, filled with adventure and joy, painted the canvas of a life well-lived.

Robert J. Davis will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Survived by his wife of 44 years, Joan Davis (Whitham). Loving father to Jessica Laughton and her husband Rich of Manchester, NH and Brian Davis of Pembroke.

Services for Robert will be held at a later date.
