Robert D. Macdonald

MacDonald, Robert “Bob” D. of Quincy, passed peacefully on June 14, 2015.

Beloved husband of Mary MacDonald (McDonald) of Quincy. Loving son of Stella MacDonald (DiGiovanni) of West Roxbury and the late William MacDonald.  Cherished brother of Janice Lagasse and her husband Bill of Randolph.  Devoted godfather of his nephew Derek Lagasse of Randolph.  Also survived by many faithful cousins, brother/sister-in-laws; their spouses, nieces, nephews.

Bob was employed as a Mechanical Engineer for Teradyne, Inc., for 30 years.  He was equally proud to serve his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era.  Bob’s passions were his family and friends. As an accomplished artist, Bob enjoyed drawing, photography and painting unique bird houses for South Shore Habitat for Humanity’s annual fundraising charity. Bob also had a passion for the arts including season tickets to the ballet and show of the month.  He was a wine connoisseur and treasured the glasses he shared with his closest family and friends. He also had a love for traveling, especially to Scotland and Ireland.  He enjoyed discovering unique bed and breakfast establishments along many of their journeys. Bob’s other love was his Corvettes, spending time detailing and driving in “ONELUV”. Bob enjoyed spoiling those around him and focused his thoughtfulness on the individuals’ passions.  He will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Bob’s life will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30 AM at Keohane Funeral Home. Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery on Connery Ave, Bourne, MA 02532 at 2 PM.

In memory of Bob, his loved ones request that you show kindness to someone in need or to make a donation in his memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 or a charity of your choice. “The point is not to pay back kindness, but to pass it on.  The cost is little, but the reward is rich.”
