Robert C. Lecomte (1952-2023)

Robert Lecomte (aged 71) passed away peacefully at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA on November 19, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Robert loved spending time with his family and friends.  He loved the outdoors, fishing, biking, gardening, hiking in Acadia National Park, and long walks with his wife. He enjoyed a good bottle of wine, playing cribbage and chess, and indulging in his wife’s delicious cooking.

Robert was born on March 4, 1952 in Cambridge, MA to his parents Robert and Mariette.

Robert was a hard worker his entire life.  Over the years he worked in a variety of places, including a wine shop in Boston, Bio-Rad formerly in Cambridge, and as a Clinical Engineer at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, where he retired from in 2018.  During his career, he formed many lasting and treasured friendships.

Beloved husband of Cecile (Baylor) Lecomte of Weymouth, Robert and Cecile were married on May 8, 1976 in Weymouth, MA.  They welcomed their son, Marc in 1980 and their daughter, Jessica, in 1981.

Robert and Cecile were married for 47 years, and in that time, they enjoyed many adventures and vacations together. Robert and Cecile especially loved Bar Harbor and Cape Cod and would vacation there each summer together. They traveled extensively throughout the United States visiting treasured family and friends.  They also traveled to Europe, Niagara Falls, Aruba, Bermuda, St. Martin and took a cruise through the Caribbean Islands.  Robert and Cecile cherished spending time at the beach; Cecile reading and Robert sneaking in a quick nap.

Loving father of Marc Lecomte and his wife, Jillian Knox, of Haverhill, and Jessica Chin and her husband, Daniel, of Abington. Grandfather of Addison, Mirabelle, Dakota, and Kennedy. Robert’s four granddaughters were the light of his life. He will be remembered as a loving, funny and devoted Papa. Brother of Jeanne O’Reilly and her husband, Joseph, of Sharon and their three children, Klaudia, Corey and Nicole. Brother-in-law of Garrett Baylor and his wife, Patricia, of Brockton, Mariah Ash of Rockland, Steve Ash of Whitman, and the late Michael Baylor, John Baylor, and Ann Cleary and her surviving husband, Daniel Cleary of Weymouth. Robert leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and life-long friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Memorial Gathering honoring Robert’s life on Saturday, December 2nd, from 2-4 PM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, South Weymouth at 809 Main Street (Route 18 opposite of South Shore Hospital).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Myotonic Dystrophy Association. In giving, you will support ongoing research efforts to find a cure for a cause that was important to Robert and his family.
