Robert C. Colombi

Robert C. Colombi of Weymouth, died December 1, 2019. He was known as Bob or “Coop” to those who knew and loved him. Bob had a successful career as a civil engineer with United Fruit Company, Hickey Associates and retired from Purcell Associates. He was a member of the Weymouth Elks, Lodge 2232 for 43 years. Coop greatly enjoyed golf and candlepin bowling, was an avid reader and a skilled gardener. His family and friends will deeply miss his smile and kind spirit.

Bob was the beloved husband of 60 years to Alice F. (MacDonald) Colombi of Weymouth.  He was devoted father of Robert C. Colombi, Jr. and his wife Caren of Warwick RI, John M. Colombi and his wife Cheryl of Dayton, OH and Alissa Lynn Colombi of Plainville. He was the cherished “Papa” of Caitlyn, Andrew, Felicia, Robert III, Alexis, Jack, Erin and great-grandchildren Claire and Caroline.  Bob was the loving brother of Barbara White of FL and the late John “Jack” Colombi and Edward “Ted”Colombi.  Lastly, Bob was old friend and brother-in-law of Buzzy MacDonald of Plymouth, Betty Davenport of Rockland and Linda Baker of Hull.   He is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Relatives and friends are also welcome to pay final respects at the funeral home at 11 AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 12 PM.

Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth will occur at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Robert C. Colombi may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
