Robert Blonda, Sr.

Robert Blonda, Sr. of Weymouth, died September 13, 2022 at the age of 72. 

Generosity defined Bob’s life. He would do anything for people in need, often taking them into his home to get them back on their feet. Bob worked for the MBTA for many years and retired as a Superintendent of Bus Service.

Son of the late Vincent and Evelyn Blonda. Bob was the beloved husband of 53 years to Joanne M. (Whalen) Blonda. Loving father of Christopher Blonda of Weymouth, the late Robert Blonda, Jr., the late Michael Vincent Blonda, and the late Mary Anne Blonda. Brother of Janice Russo of FL, Valerie MacLeod and her husband Bob of Weymouth, Cynthia Blonda of ME, Darlene Wilson of Peabody, the late Vincent Blonda, Jr., the late Marie Loudslager, and the late Carol Aylward. Proud grandfather of Raelle, Athena, Abby, and his great granddaughter Ayla-Rae . Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 5-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). Funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
