Robert “Bob” Newcomb, 94, of Hingham, and formerly of North Quincy, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones after a brief illness on Wednesday afternoon, January 16, 2019.  

Bob is predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Marguerite “Peg” (Cuddy) Newcomb, and his sister, Mary Lou McLaughlin.  Bob is survived by four children, Bob and his wife Mary Newcomb of North Quincy, Nancy and her husband Charlie Smith of Rockland, Tricia and her husband Fred Leathers of Hingham and John and his wife Donna Newcomb of Braintree, 10 grandchildren, his first great-grandson and a niece, Carol McLaughlin. 

Bob was a WWII veteran who served in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific Theater.  He worked in the electronics field and eventually retired from the Post Office.  Bob had been a member of the North Quincy Knights of Columbus for many years.  His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitation on Monday morning from 9-11 AM only, in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 11:30. Burial will be in MA National Cemetery, Bourne on Tuesday at 11:15 AM. 

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Bob’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
