Robert A. Macgillivray

Mr. Robert A. MacGillivray, of Braintree, gently passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 2, 2021.

Robert worked for over 40 years at Carney Hospital in Dorchester retiring as Vice President of Clinical Services. He enjoyed football and the most joy in his life was always remembering the cherished times spent with his beautiful family. Robert will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Beloved husband of Carole A. (Marshall)

Loving father of Leanne Stevens and her husband, Charles, of Pembroke, Heather Bottary and her husband, Stephen, of Halifax, and Pamela Zamagni and her husband, Michael of Hanson. Brother of Dorothy MacDonald of New Hampshire, Estelle MacAulay of Boston, and the late Margaret Hurley and Alexander MacGilllivray.

Grandfather of Jesse, Ashley, Matthew, Nicole, and Tyler. Great Grandfather of Hayden, Gavin, and Isla. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and burial will be private.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Summer of 2021.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. Although we cannot gather together with Robert’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support by sharing a special memory or message by clicking the link above.
