Rita (Mcgourty) Walsh

Walsh, Rita (McGourty)., OFS of Quincy, died  peacefully on November 29, 2013.

Predeceased by the late James M. Walsh. Loving mother of Mary Jane Walsh of Waltham, Rita Walsh of Cohasset, Laura Walsh of Brighton, Stephen Walsh, QFD and his wife Carolyn of Hingham and the late James M. Walsh, Jr.,  She took great joy in her grandchildren, Annie and her husband Keith, Nathaniel, Stephen, Jr.,  Olivia, Hannah. Lucy, Owen, Mary Claire and the late Phoebe and her great granddaughter Keira. She is also predeceased  by her siblings Frank, Kay, John, Mary and Hugh, II. 

In 2003 Rita was professed into the secular Franciscan Order, and she met regularly with her friends at St. Anthony’s Shrine in Boston. Rita was an avid reader and writer. She sang for many years in the St. Joseph’s Church choir.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
