Rita M. Toland

Rita M. (O’Leary) Toland of Weymouth, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on January 26, 2019.

Rita was born and raised in the Fort Hill area of Roxbury where she had many wonderful neighbors and created many happy memories. Rita married her husband, Frank, in 1950 and moved to South Weymouth where they raised their children alongside their best friends, Jimmy and Pat Davis. In 1989, Rita moved to Mount Pleasant and remained there for 23 years. She later returned home to be close to her family and friends, living with her daughter, Dana, and devoted grandson, Jayden.

Beloved wife of the late Francis J. “Frank” Toland. Devoted mother of Frank Toland and his wife Susan of SC, Cathy Belliveau and her husband Brian of Harwich, Ann Marie Prouty and her husband Kenny of Plymouth, Carol Bresnahan and her husband Michael of Weymouth, Dana M. Toland of Marshfield, the late Rita Toland and the late Lorraine P. Flipp and her husband Bruce of Weymouth. Daughter of the late Dennis J. O’Leary and Catherine (O’Connell) O’Leary. Loving sister of the late Dr. John J. O’Leary, Cathleen Battles, Charles T. O’Leary, Esq., Sr. Edmund Marie (Anna) O’Leary, GNSH and Rev. Daniel O’Leary, OMI. Cherished grandmother of Jayden, Emily and her husband Jeremy, Stephen and his wife Laura, Caitlyn and her husband Matt, Lindsay, Joseph, Grace and her husband Stephen, Marisa and her husband Kyle, Luke. Also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 11 AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 12 PM.

Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
