Rita M. Smith

Smith, Rita M. (Daly) of Quincy, formerly Boston, passed away November 17, 2012. at the Marina Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Quincy. Rita was born in Boston on August 7, 1917. She was the first born of nine children to the late Kathleen and William F. Daly. Wife of the late Richard Smith. Loving mother of Linda Densmore and her husband, Robert of East Dennis, Paula Barton and her husband, Brad of Hull, and William P. Smith and his wife, Jane C. Doyle of Attelboro. Sister of Helen Pollard of Brighton, Francis Daly of Canton, Kathleen Quinn of Brockton, Paul Daly of Abington, and the late William “Bud” Daly, Robert Daly, Jane Kern, and Marion Daly. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. She worked for many years as a librarian for the Boston Redevelopment Authority and retired in 1987 at the age of 70. Rita’s children would like to thank the staff of Marina Bay for her caring and comfort especially in her final days Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 10 AM-12 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, followed by her Funeral Service at 12 noon. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rosie’s Place 899 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA 02118
