Rita M. O’Brien

O’Brien, Rita M. (Melchione) of Quincy, died May 13, 2016. 

Rita was raised in the West End and graduated from Girls High School. In her earlier years, Rita worked for Dee Dees as a cook and later at Pneumatic Scale. Rita enjoyed reading, cooking for her family and was a member of the Mother of Twins club..  She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.   

Beloved wife of the late Richard B. O’Brien.  Loving mother of Kevin O’Brien and his wife Debra of Brockton, Kenneth O’Brien and his wife Janice of Abington, Kathleen Martinelli and her husband Michael of Rockland, Karen Alfano of Hull, Richard M. O’Brien and Carol Hanson of Pembroke, Susan McLean and her husband Daniel of Braintree and John O’Brien and Diane Dane of Malden. Devoted Grandmother of 11 grandchildren.  Caring sister of Charles Melchione of Malden, Richard Melchione and his wife Helen of Worcester and the late Micheal Melchione. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
