Rita M. Nugent

Nugent, Rita M. (Kernan) of Quincy, died on November 15, 2010 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Frederick G. Nugent. Devoted mother of Carol A. Gauthier and her husband George of Quincy and Robert W. Nugent of Weymouth. Cherished Gramma of Michael Gauthier and his wife Hitomi, Susan Gauthier, Diana Melder, Erik Birknes and Kelly Nugent. Great-grandmother of Kylee and Kio Gauthier. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Rita was born in Boston and lived in Dorchester for many years before moving to Quincy 55 years ago. She worked as a clerk for the United States Post Office at the South Postal Annex for 18 years, retiring in 1978. She loved to travel, especially to see the beautiful foliage in the fall. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Thursday 4 – 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday, prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
