Rita Katherine Fallon (Sullivan) entered peacefully into eternal rest on December 17, 2016. Born in the South End of Boston, Rita was raised in Dorchester.
Rita was the beloved wife of the deceased William Francis Fallon, Sr. Rita was the devoted and loving mother of Dr. William F. Fallon, Jr. and his wife Donna of Long Island, NY; Gerald L. Fallon and his wife Patricia of Danvers; Catherine E. Fallon of North Weymouth; and Brian S. Fallon and his wife Mary Kay of Wildwood, MO. Rita was the loving and devoted grandmother of William F., III and Christina Fallon of OH; Thomas and Brigitte Fallon of NV; Gerald L. Fallon of Danvers; Reverend Brian S. Fallon of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, MO and Elizabeth Fallon of NY. Rita was the loving and devoted great-grandmother of Brynn, William F., IV, Madison and Christopher. Rita was the beloved sister of the deceased; Francis Sullivan, Mary (Mae) Kenney, Elizabeth Timilty, Helen Giroux, Ann Sullivan, and John Sullivan and is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Rita was a longtime devoted and active parishioner of Saint Jerome Parish in North Weymouth, a member of the Saint Jerome Church adult choir for several years, a member of Saint Jerome Parish Women’s Guild and active in various Saint Jerome Church and Saint Jerome School initiatives.
Rita was a retired state employee from the Department of Public Welfare where she was employed from 1964-1983. Her career started as administrative support in the Weymouth Welfare Office and concluded as a Child Support Enforcement Worker in the Boston Municipal Courts.
Rita was an active member of Weymouth Senior Center for several years where she participated in the Walking Club, Adult Choral Group and Book Club, as well as other activities.
Rita enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling both nationally and internationally, dancing and helping others however needed. Rita will always be remembered for her love of her faith, family and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square).
Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Jerome Church, Weymouth at 11 AM.
Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
