O’Toole, Rita J. “Nina” (Lydon) of Hanson, formerly of Quincy and South Boston, died on July 31, 2006. Wife of the late Andrew O’Toole. Cherished mother of Gerard O’Toole and Andrea & her husband Charles Epps, all of Hanson. Sister of the late Alice Sullivan, Muriel McCarthy, Marie Ryan and George, Ralph, Frederick & Joseph Lydon. Devoted grandmother of Andrea Wolf and Kristen Good. Nina is also survived by her 3 great grandchildren: Alexandra Wolf, Mallory & Taylor Good. Special Aunt to Marie Epps of Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Thursday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Burial will be private. Rita was born in South Boston and graduated from South Boston High School. She worked as a telephone rate and route operator for New England Telephone for 35 years, retiring in 1976. Rita was very active at Sacred Heart Church in North Quincy. In 1997, she was honored as “Citizen of the Year”. Rita enjoyed playing the piano and loved to entertain. She moved from South Boston and lived in Quincy for more than 40 years. Rita enjoyed reading and her favorite author was Katherine Cookson. Rita was a devoted mother and grandmother and recently became a great grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting and was a devout Catholic, saying the rosary daily. Her family remembers her as well spoken, loving and devoted to her family. She will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rita may be made to Divine Mercy c/o The Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, 241 Neponset Avenue, Dorchester, MA 02122.
