Rita G. Mcloud

HINGHAM – Rita G. (Fiore) McLoud, age 67, went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2009 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous 17 year battle with cancer. She was the devoted and loving wife of Russell K. McLoud for 47 years and lived in Hingham for 44 years. She was born in Dorchester to the late Carmen and Rose Fiore and was a graduate of Dorchester High School Class of 1959. Sister to Jane Sharland and her husband Robert of Burlington and the late Marie (Vicki) Chiano and her husband Paul, of Pembroke. She also leaves two daughters, Ann S. Cox and her husband Terry, of Hingham, Rebecca A. Bielawa and her husband Joel, of Hingham, two sons, Douglas J. McLoud and his wife Paula of Scituate, and Scott M. McLoud and his wife Carolyn, of Plymouth, seven grandchildren, Matthew Cox, Emilee Cox, Dylan McLoud, Megan McLoud, Kylie McLoud, Oliver Bielawa and Morgan Bielawa as well as many close relatives and friends. She met her husband while in Jr. high school and they married in 1962. They lived briefly in Lakeville before settling in Hingham to raise a family. She was an active member of South Shore Baptist Church and made many lifelong friends there. She enjoyed Bible study, crafts, sewing, and cooking and found endless joy in spending time with family and adoring her grandchildren. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare for nearly 20 years in Member Services. She enjoyed yearly vacations with her husband to Clearwater Beach, Florida and could usually be found relaxing at the beach with a good book and her toes in the sand. They often whisked away the grandchildren for “mystery trips” that included Hershey Park, Niagara Falls, New York City and the Jersey shore. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, July 17 at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald Street, Hingham. A funeral service will be held on July 18 at 10:00am at South Shore Baptist Church, 578 Main Street in Hingham. Burial to follow at the Hingham Cemetery in Hingham.
