Flaherty, Rita C. (Gilligan) of Quincy, August 6, 2003. Wife of the late Walter J. Flaherty, Jr. Beloved mother of Walter J. Flaherty III and his wife, Patricia, of Walpole, Karen M. Doran and her husband, Brian, of Braintree, and Robert M. Flaherty and his wife, Annette, of Westlake Village, CA. Sister and best friend of Mary Cook and her husband, Vincent, of Quincy. Also, survived by 8 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Saturday at 8:00 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours Friday 5:00 – 8:00 PM. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Monday is private for family. Born in Roxbury, Mrs. Flaherty was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School in Roxbury. A fifty year resident of North Quincy, Mrs. Flaherty devoted her life to her husband and children. Later in life her grandchildren became the focus of her love and care. After raising her family she worked for many years as a Federal Employee in the Boston Passport Office for the State Dept.
