Rita A. Doherty

 Rita A. (Fisher) Doherty of Hingham originally from South Boston.  Entered into eternal peace on Saturday January 30, 2016.

The beloved wife of the late Henry M. Doherty. Loving mother of Patricia Doherty of South Boston and Kathleen Doherty of Braintree. Cherished Nana of Katie and Paul Capuzzo of Norwell. Sister of Eleanor Cherry of Hingham and Joseph Fisher of South Boston and the late  Dotty Faherty and Marie Ryan. Daughter of the late Winfred Fisher and Mary (McDonough) Fisher. Rita is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A longtime South Boston resident, Rita was proud of her Irish heritage. She was a devout Catholic and a devoted family woman, especially to her “Prince Henny” and her 2 grandchildren. She enjoyed spending her summers in Dennisport at Campers Haven. She loved preparing meals for her family and found great pleasure in the simple things in life. Her faith and her family were the cornerstones of all that was truly important to her. Rita will be remembered as a warm and loving woman who will be sadly missed. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM.

Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
