Rile B. Rhodes

Rhodes, Rile B. of Medway, formerly of South Boston and Milton, died February 23, 2023. He was 57.

Born in 1965 in Portsmouth, VA, on a military base, he was the son of the late Rile B. and Gertrude “Trudy” (Flaherty) Rhodes. Rile graduated from North Cambridge Catholic High School and was very proud and honored to help renovate the gym at the Cristo Rey, which they had moved from Dorchester. He was honored since he played basketball there in high school.

Rile began his career with Carpenters Local 33 (currently Local 327) over 34 years ago, he graduated the Carpenters Apprenticeship program where he won the golden hammer award and continued thriving in his chosen field.  Rile held the position of Steward for many years and was hired on staff as a Business Agent/Organizer in October 2014 where he continued to serve the members of the Carpenters Union helping to provide a better life for so many.  During this time Rile served with distinction on the Carpenters Local 327 Executive Board, Delegate to the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, Delegate to the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America and served on the Board of Directors of the North Atlantic States Carpenters Apprenticeship Program.

Rile was very proud of his career, but nothing could compare to the pride he took in his family. In his free time, you would see Rile coaching all the kids’ sports teams, from basketball to baseball to football. With everything that the kids were involved in, Rile was there for everything. Every game and every accomplishment that Rile and Faith had, their dad was there. Rile had a passion for golf as well as cooking. He showed love through making family and friends their favorite meals. Rile also loved spending time with his dog, Bruno. He was an all around family man and role model and will be missed by all who knew him.

Loving husband to Rose (Pyne) Rhodes of Medway. Cherished father to Rile C. Rhodes and Faith M. Rhodes of Medway. Dear brother of Lawrence Wise and his wife Reo of Hudson, FL and Theresa (Rhodes) Moses and her husband Raymond of Braintree. Brother-in-law of Catherine Pyne of Hyde Park, Margaret “Peggy” LaPaglia and and Wayne of Rockland, the late John Pyne, and the late Michael Pyne and his wife Diane of S. Boston. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
