Richard A. Wyant, Sr. of Hingham, died peacefully surrounded by his family on November 12, 2017.
He was born on August 14, 1936 and was a native of Maplewood, New Jersey. Rich graduated from the Newark College of Engineering (NJIT) with a degree in mechanical engineering. He went on to serve as Corporal with the US Marine Corp Reserves for 6 years followed by a career as a plumber and electrician with his family business. Before retiring to Sunapee, New Hampshire in 2001, Rich worked as Logistics Manager for Sefar America, a Swiss manufacturing company for 20 years.
Rich was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his sons and their families. Vacations spent on Long Beach Island were always filled with joy and happy memories of fishing and beach time. During his retirement he could often be found kayaking on Lake Sunapee and enjoying the outdoors. He will be dearly missed.
Beloved husband of Marilyn (Decker) Wyant of Hingham, Massachusetts, originally of South Orange, New Jersey. Devoted father of Richard A. Wyant, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Marshfield, Massachusetts, and J. Scott Wyant and his wife Alyssa of Califon, New Jersey. Cherished grandfather of Cally, Paige, Reagan and Tucker. Loving brother of Judith Manning of East Andover New Hampshire, Ellen Davis of Dobbs Ferry, New York, and the late June Wyant, of Maplewood, New Jersey.. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a celebration of Rich’s life on Thursday at 4 PM in Linden Pond’s Derby Clubhouse, 203 Linden Pond’s Way, Hingham, MA 02043.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Rich may be made to the Ann Romney Center for Neurological Diseases, c/o Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Development Office, 116 Huntington Ave., 3rd floor, Boston, MA 02116.
Burial will be private and held at Morrow Memorial Church in Maplewood, NJ.
