Richard W. Newcomb

Richard “Dick” W. Newcomb, of Hull, age 71, died peacefully on April 15, 2013 in the arms of his loving family.

Until his retirement, Dick worked for 36 years as a union carpenter for Local # 67. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Jean no matter the destination whether it was Florida, Aruba, or enjoying a beautiful cruise. Dick just loved life and his most pride and joy in his life was his 3 beautiful grandchildren and he always cherished the times spent with them. An avid Boston sports fan, in his spare time he also enjoyed bowling. He was also a veteran serving in the United States Navy.

Beloved husband of the late Jean M. (Ryan). Loving father of Keith R. Newcomb and his wife, Michelle, of Hull, and Ryan W. Newcomb of Braintree. Brother of Joyce M. Moran of Bridgewater, and Beverly M. Quinn of Pembroke. Cherished grandfather of Jake, Sean, and Eric. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Autism Speaks, 5455 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 2250, Los Angeles, CA 90036.
