Richard W. Mccarthy

McCarthy, Richard W. of Weymouth, died peacefully February 13, 2013 at the age of 83.

Born and in raised in Weymouth, he graduated from Weymouth High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army before continuing his service as a Weymouth Firefighter for over 30 years, retiring in 1985. He was an avid Red Sox fan, even traveling with friends to Hollywood Florida to watch spring training. He also enjoyed playing cribbage.

Beloved husband of the late Barbara (Currier) McCarthy. Devoted father of Paula Schraut of Whitman, Richard W. McCarthy, Jr. and his wife Gail of Plymouth, Daniel McCarthy of Rockland and Stacy Hoemke of Wilton, NH. Loving brother of the late Francis, William, John and Daniel McCarthy. Cherished grandfather of Jaime-Leigh of Whitman, Erica and Jason, both of Hanson. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
