Ayer, Richard W. “Dick” of Quincy, suddenly and unexpectedly,  September 24, 2014.

Beloved husband of 39 years of Kathleen J. (Graham) Ayer of Quincy.  Loving father of Richard W. Ayer, Jr. and his wife Merideth J. of Quincy, Valerie J. (Ayer) Sloan and her husband Brian-William B. of San Diego, CA and Marissa L. of Quincy and her late twin Emily J. Ayer.  Dear brother of Cheryl Weldon and her husband Kevin of Weymouth, Audrey Trieber of Raynham and Donna Shanahan of Maine.  Cherished “Grandpa” of Karen J. Sloan.  Dear brother-in-law of Richard Trieber of Bridgewater.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dick loved to frequent car shows with his son Dickie to marvel at the latest and greatest muscle cars. He was a collector of L.G.B. model trains as well as tools.  Dick loved to make everyone laugh.  He had a sweet tooth and was an animal lover. He was a proud employee of Gillette for 31 years. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial will follow in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
