Mr. Richard Hartigan, “Richy”, of South Weymouth, formerly of Charlestown, passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 2, 2020. He was 77.
Richard worked for many years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an Inspector. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cribbage, poker, bowling, beating the neighborhood kids at basketball and was an avid Red Sox fan. Richard proudly served his country during the Vietnam war era in the United States Army.
Beloved husband of 43 years to Patricia (Maloney) Hartigan. Loving father of Richard A. Hartigan and his wife, Kara, of North Attleboro and Patrick D. Hartigan and his wife, Carrie, of Salem, NH. Loving Brother of Helen M. Centola and her late husband, Peter, of Somerville, the late Margaret McCabe and her late husband, William, of Charlestown, the late Robert Hartigan and his wife, Barbara, of Plymouth, and the late Thomas and John Hartigan, both of Charlestown. Beloved Papa Richy to Braden P. Hartigan, Rory T. Hartigan, and Bob. Best friend of Graften and Phyllis Dearden and their family of Whitman. Also survived by many In-Laws, Nieces, and Nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, August 6th, from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
