Pease, Richard Ray, 76, of Hingham, beloved husband of 55 years to Arline (Daucett) Pease, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008 in Manchester, CT surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 21, 1931 to the late Palmer and Margaret (Beattie) Pease in Rockland, ME. He graduated from Rockland High School in 1949, University of Maine Orono in 1953 where he was the president of the ATO fraternity, and received his master’s degree from Northeastern University. He served two years in the U.S. Army as a first lieutenant. He worked 2 years for Raytheon and then worked 32 years at GTE as manager of the strategic systems division, retiring in 1990. Dick spent many years enjoying golf with his family and friends at the South Shore Country Club, coaching and watching his children’s sports, and spending time with his family in Maine. In his retirement years he and Arline spent many precious hours with their children and grandchildren, traveling to Marco Island, Florida as a family, and watching each of their grandchildren participate in many different sporting events and activities. He was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, Glastonbury Tomahawks, and Hanover Indians. Dick was a very easygoing, kind man who whistled his way through the best of times and the most trying of times. Dick is survived by his wife Arline, his loving children, Richard Ray Pease, Jr. of Hingham, Ron Pease and his wife Dori of Glastonbury, CT, and Susan Murphy and her husband Patrick of Hanover. Dick was much loved and adored Bumpa to Justin and Lindsey Pease of Pembroke, Ronnie, Nicole, and Kenny Pease of Glastonbury, CT. and PJ, Michelle, Lauren, and Cameron Murphy of Hanover. He is also survived by three brothers, William Pease of Lancaster, PA, Ronnie Pease of Gorham, ME, Jerry Pease of Bristol, ME, and several nieces & nephews. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM, Thursday 7-9 PM. A service will be held in St. Luke’s Church, Scituate Friday at 11 AM. Donations in Dick’s memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave., #2, Norwood, MA 02062 or to the Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
