Richard P. “Dickie” Murphy

Richard Peter Murphy “Dickie” of Dunmore, County Galway, Ireland, son of the late James and Nellie Murphy. He was married to his soulmate, Irene, with whom he shared fifty-six years of marital bliss.  He was blessed with four children and nine wonderful grandchildren. 

On December 14 2015, “Dickie” Murphy left this world surrounded by the love and warmth of his wife and family. Richard aged seventy-six years lived a life full of adventure, laughter and love both in Ireland and in Massachusetts. He will be remembered for the joy he brought those who loved him, the laughter that followed him, and his generosity. 

He is survived by his wife, Irene and four children: Richard E Murphy of Quincy, Eileen B Farmer of Middleboro and twins Peter J Murphy of Abington and David P Murphy of Squantum.  He is also survived by his nine grandchildren: Brittany, Caitlin, Lauren, Bridget, Kristen, Rachel, James, Justin, and Madison. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 3-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:45 AM Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 11:30 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston.
