Richard P. Brooks

Brooks, Richard P. “Dicky” of Quincy, originally South Boston, died peacefully being comforted by his family after a recent period of failing health on July 7, 2022.

Richard adored his family and was his grandchildren’s biggest fan at all of their sporting events and activities. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was highly decorated, receiving a Purple Heart with many other medals, ribbons and achievements while a Sergeant. He then served stateside in the National Guard for many years. He was a member of many VFW and American Legion Posts, South Boston Knights of Columbus, and volunteered as an honor guard and for the VA. He took great pride in serving his fellow veterans in any way he could. Richard was a devoted worker of the USPS for many years until retiring. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, watching all Boston sports and traveling every year to Buffalo for the Patriots game. His faith was also very important to him. He was a lovable, loyal, and laid back man who was “the original good guy” and loved by all. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Beloved husband of the late Dorothy (LoCascio) Brooks. Cherished father of Kellianne Connors and her former spouse Jimmy of Quincy, Richard Brooks and his wife Meredith of Braintree, and Brad Brooks and his wife Jessica of Cohasset. Loving Papa of Jaime and her fiancé Michael, Hailee, Christian, Noah, Dylan, Katie, Ryan, Eden, and Wesley. Beloved uncle to Gemma and Billy Donahue. Also survived by many other nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters in law.
