O’Brien, Richard of Hingham, formerly South Boston, passed away January 10, 2017.  

Rich adored his family and friends. He was a graduate of South Boston High School and attended Northeastern University. He worked as a florist and accountant for many years at Stop and Shop and enjoyed gardening, antiquing, and was a big history buff. Rich also loved to travel to Maine and Hull to be on the ocean. He had a great sense of humor and was a kind and gentle man who was well respected. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Son of the late Matthew and Gertrude (Guiney) O’Brien. Beloved husband of Dorothy Nancy O’Brien of Hingham. Cherished brother of Charles M. O’Brien and his wife Frieda of Quincy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 8:30-10 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY followed by the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rich may be made to Wellspring, 814 Nantasket Ave., Hull, MA 02045.
