Turpin, Richard M., “Richie” of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, died June 24, 2015.
Richie’s life revolved around family and football. His wife and children gave him the most joy and he wouldn’t miss a ball game or event that they were involved in. Football was near and dear to his heart, first as a player for South Boston High School, but more importantly as his sons coach in Quincy. Richie volunteered for many years with the Quincy Point Panthers and later as a booster for the Quincy High School President’s football teams as well as the Quincy High School basketball program. He loved to cook for his family, was larger than life, passionate, loving and a hard-worker. He worked in construction with Local #223 for many years.
Beloved husband of Barbara (Riley) Turpin of Quincy. Loving father of Richie Turpin, Ryan Turpin, Stacey Mullen; all of Quincy, Matthew Mullen of Braintree, and the late Kristen Turpin. Grandfather of Parker and Kendra Mullen. Brother of Frances Catizone of S. Boston, James Turpin of Waltham, Oscar Turpin of Brockton, Donna Kennedy of Quincy, John Turpin of NH, Shirley Graybill of NH, and the late Ada Webber and Henry Turpin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Cremation will follow.
