Lamontagne, Richard of Plymouth, formerly of Norwell, Hingham and Brockton, July 22, 2008. Beloved husband of Peg (Bailey) Lamontagne of Plymouth. Devoted father of John R. Lamontagne and his wife Barbara Wallace of Marblehead, Edward “Ted” Lamontagne and his wife Leslie Thompson of VT. Loving brother of Roland T. Lamontagne of CA and Constance Riess of MD. Cherished grandfather of Emily Lamontagne. Richard graduated from Archbishop Williams High School and continued onto College of the Holy Cross and received his master’s degree from Babson College. He served in the U.S Navy from 1960-1964 as a Lieutenant. He was the owner of the sporting goods company, Collette Manufacturing in NY, the Chief Financial Officer of Ginn and Co., in Lexington and most recently worked for Plimouth Plantation as the Chief Financial Officer. In addition to his employment, Richard was also involved in a lot of community service, which included being the former chairman for the Hingham Advisory Committee, treasurer for the Road to Responsibility Inc, and was on the finance committee for the town of Plymouth. He was a board member on the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans and coached Hingham Youth Baseball. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, Saturday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Friday 4- 8 PM. Cremation will follow. Donations in memory of Mr. Lamontagne may be made to New England Shelter for Homeless Veteran 17 Court Street Boston, MA 02108 or Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers P.O. Box 302, Maryknoll, NY 10545.
