Richard J. Maher

Richard J. “Dick” Maher of Weymouth, died January 12, 2017.

Dick grew up in Savin Hill and has lived in Weymouth for over 45 years. He proudly served in the US Army and went on to lead a 36 year career with Raytheon, retiring in 2001. After retirement Dick worked at Home Depot where he was known for his “gift for gab” and outgoing nature. He was a proud athlete, enjoying hockey and golf well into his adult years. Dick was happiest when surrounded by those he loved at his second home in the woods of Brownfield, Maine. He will be dearly missed. 

Beloved husband of Gerry (Regan) Maher of Weymouth. Devoted father of Jennifer Lavin and her husband Jacob of Weymouth, Julie King and her husband Brian of Wakefield, the late Steven R. Maher and honorary son Steve Kililea and his wife Kathy of Framingham. Cherished Grandpa of Rachel, Danny, Katie and Regan. Loving brother of Marylou McCarthy of Scituate, Peter A. Maher of Marlboro and Janice Jenkins of Milton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Richard may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc., 138 Conant St., 1st Floor, Beverly, MA 01915.
