Richard J. Gori

Gori, Richard J. of Squantum, September 23, 2005. The Beloved Husband of Alice (Libbey) Gori of Squantum. Loving Father of Richard J. Gori, Jr. of Abington, Alice Gori of Squantum , Joseph Gori of Plaistowm NH, Elizabeth Hughey of Norwood and Mary Gori of Squantum. Brother of Stella Ricci of Cambridge. Devoted Grandfather of Christopher, Trevor, Adrienne and Devin Gori. Richard grew up in Dorchester. He was a quarterback for Dorchester High School’s first football team. He enlisted into the United States Navy and served on the USS Texas – BB35. He was involved in 3 invasions; Normandy Cherbourg & Lahav. Richard was a member of Knights of Columbus #2259 as well as V.F.W. Post #561 and was an active member of the D.A.V. Richard was a member of the National Assoc. for Retired Federal Employees. Mr. Gori was a professional rollerskater and instructor and a member of R.S.R.O.A. He turned professional after his military service. He also enjoyed fishing, bingo and was an avid sportsman. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Tuesday at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 9 AM. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM. Burial in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Boston.
