Nielsen, Richard F. “Dickie” of Hull, died March 2, 2016.  

Dickie graduated from Watertown High School and later received a certificate as an electrical technician.  He worked for Raytheon in Quincy for over 45 years.  Dickie was a United States Navy veteran who served during the Korean War in an Aircraft Carrier.   He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching Notre Dame Football and the University of Connecticut girls basketball team.  Dickie had a love for dogs and spent time training police dogs.  He will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. 

Beloved husband of the late Dolores (Boudreau) Nielsen.  Loving father of Michelle “Mish” Nielsen and Bernard “Bernie” Nielsen both of Hull.  Cherished grandfather of Dakota Ruscansky of Hull.  Devoted brother of Mary, Eleanor and the late Theodore “Fluffy”, Bernard, Theresa and Edward.   Caring brother-in-law of Rita Nielsen.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull on Friday, March 11th at 10 AM.  Burial at MA National Cemetery at 2:30 PM.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations in memory of Dickie may be made to Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Drive, Rockland, MA 02370 or to the Salvation Army 1500 Washington Street, Boston MA 02119.
