Richard B. Craig 1937-2020
Richard “Dickie“ B. Craig, of Milton, passed away at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth on April 21, 2020. Due to the pandemic, his family were unable to to be by his side. They are, however, grateful to have been able to express their love for him in his last moments, by way of a video conference call coordinated by the hospital staff.
Dick was the beloved husband of Noreen. Their love was boundless. He was a loving father of Dolores of Plymouth, Richard of Milton, William of Plymouth, and Elaine of Abington. Dick was grandfather to Lynn, John, Eric, Mary, Elizabeth, Charlie, Samantha, Kelsey, William, Danielle and Joseph. He was great grandfather to Vinny, Alex, and Julian. Dick was brother to Jack, Sarah Ann, Nancy, Robert, James, and Kathy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and numerous friends who all loved him dearly.
Dickie was a mentor to many and an all-around wonderful man. He was loved by everyone who knew him. Many have expressed that Dick was like a father to them. Dick was an outdoorsman. Whether it be fishing, farming, hunting or riding his bike with his dog on the Cape Cod Canal, he loved being outdoors almost as much as he enjoyed the company of others. He was a talker… In a good way. A plumber by trade, he could repair anything. Be it at home or for a family member or a neighbor in need, Dick was there with a helpful heart and a handyman talent that was second to none.
Richard was laid to rest at Milton cemetery on Friday, April 24, at 10 AM, in a limited ceremony adhering to the current restrictions. A future celebration of life will be planned and all will be welcome.
Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for community to gather in support of one another. Although we cannot gather together with the family at this time, friends may still offer their support and memories by sharing a special message by clicking the link above.
