Richard D. Racette

Racette, Richard D. of Quincy, January 12, 2005. Beloved husband of Patricia L. (Green) Racette. Loving father of Lisa and her husband John Bauzan of Quincy, Stephen P. Racette and his wife Sharon of Quincy and the late Kevin Racette. Cherished Grampie of Ryan, Eric, Melissa, and Megan. Dear brother of Robert Racette of Scituate, Janet Figueiredo of Cohasset, and the late Phyllis Goff. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON Saturday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10 AM. Visiting hours Friday 4 – 8 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Mr. Racette was a member of the North Quincy Knights of Columbus #2259 and the Quincy Elks. Mr. and Mrs. Racette formerly owned two liquor stores, one on Newbury Street and one on Newport Ave. in North Quincy. He was also the proprietor of the Red Vest Restaurant in Milford from 1980 to 1987. He served in the Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict and worked as a supervisor for New England Telephone for 35 years, retiring in 1985. He had many friends, interests and hobbies, but his greatest joy in life were his grandchildren, with whom he spent a lot of time and enjoyed lunches with. He was a very generous man, who helped many people financially, and also helped many people start their own businesses. Despite the last few years of pain he maintained his caustic wit. Just a facade for his robust personality. Donations in memory of Mr. Racette may be made to Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, PO Box 767, Framingham, MA 01701.
