Welch, Richard C. in Chatham, of Marco Island, FL , formerly of Hingham, died on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with lymphoma. The beloved husband of 43 years to Virginia (Lyons) Welch. Cherished father of Richard Welch and his wife Florencia of Miami, FL, Joanne Turrell and her husband Ash of Marco Island, FL and Kathleen Taylor and her husband Kevin of Hingham. Brother of Rita Downey of Melrose and Thomas Welch of FL. Devoted grandfather of Cameron, Bowen and Brendan Taylor and Cami and Martina Welch. Richard is also survived by nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Richard grew up in Neponset. He married Virginia Lyons and moved to Hingham in 1966. He was a co/ founder and President of Dyna-Fab Company, Inc. in Rockland from 1968 until his retirement in 2003. A forty year resident of Hingham, Richard enjoyed spending his summers in Chatham and winters in FL. He enjoyed boating and golf and was a member at the Island Country Club in Marco Island, FL, Thorny Lea Golf Club in Brockton and Wampatuck Country Club, Canton . Richard was an active member of the Woburn Elks and a founding member of the Line Club in Neponset. He was on the Board of Directors at Fr. Bill’s Place in Quincy. He lived his life with overflowing generosity, kindness and thoughtfulness . His support and loyalty to his family and his numerous friends and the boundless love he shared with so many will be greatly missed. His life stood as a testimonial to the potential grandness of the human spirit. He will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have had the opportunity to be part of Richard’s remarkable life. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Sunday,3-7 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:15AM on Monday, prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church at 11 AM. Burial in Hingham Cemetery, Hingham. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Richard may be made to Fr. Bills Place – Main Spring, 422 Washington Street, Quincy, MA 02169.
