Richard C. Betzger

Betzger, Richard C. “Dick” of Hanover, formerly of Quincy, died June 15, 2014.

Richard graduated from North Quincy High School in 1963.  He later joined the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1968.  Richard worked as a warehouse manager for Boston Wine Company, retiring 15 years ago.  His family meant the world to him, especially his four grandsons.  His favorite times were taking his family to Disney World.  He also enjoyed working around his home in the yard.  A proud member of the American Legion Nickerson Post and Disabled American Veterans.  He will be remembered for his keen sense of humor and kind manner.  Richard’s family would like to thank the medical staff at the Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury VA Hospitals and Beacon Hospice of Plymouth, for their care and compassion. 

Beloved husband of Jane (Grocott) Betzger of Hanover.  Loving father of Michelle Gaudet and her husband Richard of Medfield and Jennifer Carolan and her husband Fiachra of Hanover.  Cherished grandfather of Joseph & Daniel Gaudet and Shane & Owen Carolan.  Brother of Barbara Betzger of Braintree, Harold Betzger of Braintree, and the late Julie Betzger. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
