Richard A. Gottschalk, 77, of Squantum. Formerly of Las Vegas, Nevada (15 yrs) and Englewood, N.J. died Thursday June 23, 2005. A World War II veteran, Mr. Gottschalk was also a 16 year veteran of the Englewood Police Department achieving the rank of Detective First Class. He then moved on to the Hotel/Motel Industry where he spent the next 20 years managing various properties before moving to Las Vegas. In Las Vegas he worked security at Binon’s Horseshoe Casino. He retired in 2000. Husband of the late Marie (Muller) Gottschalk, he is survived by two daughters, Grace Buscher of Squantum and her husband Glendon J. Buscher and Frances Brunner of New Milford, NJ and her husband D. Brunner. Also 5 grandchildren, Rita & Stephanie Buscher and Jessica, Scott and Alyssa Brunner. He was the son of Joseph H. and Grace (Aigeltinger) Gottschalk of Englewood, N.J. A memorial service will be planned in NJ at a later date.
