Hussey, Regina M. (Sullivan) of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, April 16, 2007. Beloved wife of the late detective of Quincy Police Department, Paul C. Hussey. Loving mother of Michael Hussey of Marshfield, Kathleen O’Brien of Quincy and Paul J. Hussey and his wife Beth of Quincy. Daughter of the late Francis Sullivan and Mary (Foley). Sister of Francis Sullivan of Plymouth and Elaine Breen of Stoughton. Cherished grandmother of Shannon, Tara, James, Christopher, Kelli, Mikaela, Paul, Brendan, Michael and Caitlin. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and her grand dog Morgan. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Friday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass from Holy Trinity Parish in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Mrs. Hussey was a teacher in the Quincy Public school system for many years. She was born and raised in South Boston, Mrs. Hussey was a graduate of South Boston HS and received her BS from Suffolk University in 1978. She lived in Quincy for the last 35 years. An accomplished water skier, who with her future husband, she competed and won several events with the South Boston Water Ski Club. She later became an avid runner, participating in many road races and completing the Newport marathon in 1978. Even as she battled through cancer, her daily routine always included a run or walk on Wollaston Beach or at Castle Island, usually with one of her 10 grandchildren. Mrs. Hussey was one of the original Quincy Youth Hockey Association “plank owners”, provided the weekly youth and Executive hockey League press releases, and was an active member of the Merrymount Association for many years. A fixture at many rinks and ball fields, she was a wonderful mentor for her children, grandchildren, and many other student-athletes. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping, boating, traveling and most of all the genuine companionship of her family and friends.
