Raymond Thomas Foley

Quincy – Raymond Thomas Foley, age 81, of Quincy, died peacefully, Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at his home.

Born to Thomas F. and Virginia M. (Curtis) Foley in Boston, Ray grew up in Quincy, where he graduated from North Quincy High School. Ray and Peggy married, uniting two families that had been friends for years, and their marriage endured an incredible 54 years. Together, they settled in Quincy and raised their family, establishing roots that spanned a lifetime. Ray embarked on a lifelong journey in carpentry, establishing his own business, RT Foley Inc alongside his wife. For three decades, they dedicated themselves to the company until Ray’s retirement. Renowned for his integrity, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to perfection. Ray’s craftsmanship left an indelible mark. Those closest to him bore witness to his extraordinary construction skills, as each of his children proudly boasts a cherished piece of his handiwork. Ray loved boating off the coast of Massachusetts, reading, and spending time with family at his infamous barbecues.

His loving wife, Margaret, passed away on December 11, 2022. Devoted father of Virginia R. Foley and her husband Michael Robertson of Natick; and Kristine D. Ostroff and her husband Jonathon Ostroff of South Orange, N.J. Loving grandfather to Lila and Penny, Owen and Eli. Dear brother of Barbara Galvin, Margie Mulley, John Foley, Martin Foley, and Kitty Foley.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ray’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visitation on Saturday 1/27/24 from 9:15-10 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) followed by a Celebration of Life service at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
