Raymond N. Witt, Jr. of Weymouth, formerly of Norwich, CT, died March 9, 2017.
Raymond served his country in World War II in the Army Air Corps. He married his wife, Ruth (Ahlberg) Witt upon his return and they recently celebrated 70 years of marriage. He was an avid stamp collector and Ham radio operator. He had a lifelong love of fishing and built custom fishing rods. He was a talented painter who also built his own boats. He adored his family and will be dearly missed.
Beloved husband of 70 years to Ruth (Ahlberg) Witt of Weymouth. Devoted father of Kathleen Richen and her husband Neville of Nantucket, Judith Fitzhugh and her husband Marc Lopez of CA and Sandra Hadden and her husband Peter of Weymouth. Cherished grandfather of Jason Sullivan, Amanda Bidlack, Emilie Sizemore, Peter Hadden, Sara Morrison, Greig Hadden and great-grandchildren Aidan, Nora and Samuel. Loving brother of the late Charles and Alice Witt.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Memorial Service on Saturday, March 18th at 11 AM in First Baptish Church, Weymouth.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Raymond may be made to First Baptist Church, Art Program, 40 West Street, Weymouth, MA 02190.
