Ramona “Mona” Shea

Shea, Ramona “Mona” of Squantum, died January 8, 2014 at home surrounded by her family.

Mona was a strong, caring and independent woman. Her family gave her the most fulfillment in life and she in turn spent quality time with them making cherished memories.  Her passions were cooking, entertaining, gardening and traveling.  An avid Red Sox fan she was thrilled to see them win three World Championships.  Mona was a co-founder of Bill Shea’s Formica with her husband William F. in 1952, where she was the Company bookkeeper.  She was civic minded as she was a member of the Squantum PTO, Squantum Parade Committee, The Lions Club of Quincy and a member of The Quincy Neighborhood Club. 

Beloved wife of the late William F. Shea.  Loving mother of Susan Mason and her husband Forest of Quincy, Penny Breen and her husband Tony of Walpole, William Shea and his wife Audrey of Squantum, and her beloved cat, Miss Molly of Squantum.  Cherished grandmother of Kristin and her husband Kevin Paszkewicz, Kevin Mason, Kelly and Anthony Breen, Tammy and her husband Ryan Barrett and Nicholas Shea.   Sister of the late Charles and Norman Ayers, and Aunt to Norman, Bill, Chuck and Bruce Ayers. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Cremation will follow.
