Ralph J. Mercadante of Quincy died March 20, 2015. Beloved husband of 63 years to the late Hazel V. (Clendening) Mercadante. Devoted father of Geraldine and her husband Robert Culver of Milton, Christine and  her husband Gerard Walsh of Hanson / Florida and his son Gerard Walsh Jr. of Norwell. Cherished grandfather of Leah Culver of Boston.  Loving brother of Sue Guarino of Revere and the late Guy Mercadante, Mary Melchione, Pino Mercadante, Caroline Espisito, and John Mercadante. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Ralph grew up in the North End of Boston.  After a distinguished service in the Marine Corp during WWII he settled in Quincy, owning and operating for many years the Fruit Basket in Norfolk Downs Quincy.  After retiring in 1979, Ralph enjoyed wintering in Florida and his trips to the casino. He especially enjoyed sitting down to a good meal with family. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Ralph may be made to The Pink Agenda – Boston Chapter, 60 E. 56th St., 80th Floor, NY, NY 10022 (a breast cancer research foundation).
