Contrado, Ralph J., a fine artist and lifelong resident of Hull, passed away suddenly March 24, 2011 at the age of 52. Beloved husband of Tammy (Campbell) Contrado. Loving father of John, Dereck, and April Contrado, all of Hull. Cherished son of Raffaele Contrado of Hull and the late Carmela Contrado. Brother of Stephen Contrado of Hull and Sheila Contrado of Winthrop. Son in law of Robert and Christine Campbell. Brother in law of Liane Gonzalez of No. Reading. Cousin of Ronnie Riccioli of Everett and Anthony Perez of Saugus. Godfather of Estelle Lincoln and Marielle Riccioli. Also survived by many extended family members and friends. A graduate of Hull High School, class of 1976, Ralph studied commercial art at Vesper George from 1977-1980 and then went on to study fine art in a special joint program for a Bachelors of Fine Art Degree at Tufts University and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts from 1981-1984. Recently, he has worked on movie and television sets as a scenic artist, including TV shows Sex in the City, and Brotherhood, and in films such as Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone, The Women, Knight and Day, The Fighter, and many more. His fine art has appeared in numerous movies and television programs and also in galleries all over the world; everywhere from exclusive exhibits in the MFA reserved for Museum School students to galleries in China. More than anything, Ralph enjoyed spending time and enjoying life with his family. They will always remember him as “loyal, strong, proud, and loving”. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 AM. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery. Donations in Ralph’s memory may be made to the St. Anthony’s Society, 203 Endicott St., Boston, MA 02113.
