von Saleski, Rainer O. of Hingham, Massachusetts died July 18, 2016 at the age of 69.

 
Rainer was born in Maryland, and resided there for many years. In later years, he resided in Lexington, Waltham and then Hingham, Massachusetts. He graduated from McDonogh School with many top honors.  He received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from The Johns Hopkins University.  He Co-authored with Eliezer Naddor “Helper – A Program for Editing and Renumbering Basic-Plus Programs and Files” at The Johns Hopkins University.  He taught computer science courses at The Johns Hopkins University.  Rainer had many diverse talents from physics, mathematics, computer science, building electronic equipment, and sound system development. He was a self employed computer scientist.  His main client was the Central Laboratories of Associated Maryland Pathologists, where he wrote innovative software to send medical laboratory reports to Maryland hospitals and added a billing system.  He analyzed data and published “A study of Normal Values for the SMAC Chemistry Profiles.” He built instrumentation for several Maryland hospitals.  He was a proud and dedicated member of Lexington United Methodist Church (LUMC) and Lovely Lane United Methodist Church in Baltimore.  At Lovely Lane United Methodist Church he was a member of the Restoration Committee and developed a national campaign data base and mailings, assisted with fund raiser events, youth group leader, and lead many Christian adult education sessions.  He designed, implemented and ran the sound systems, and was a liturigist for both churches.  He was Financial Secretary at LUMC.  He volunteered for the Maryland Health Information Management Association on projects of developing a membership data base, cookbook design, and computerized “A Guide to The Disclosure of Health Information.”  He enjoyed listening to music, photography and editing, playing strategic games, hiking, and jumping waves at the beach. He enjoyed traveling and assisting his beloved, wife, Bernice on various projects they shared professionally.  They have been married for 48 years and 10 months. He will be missed sadly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
 
Loving husband of Bernice von Saleski of Hingham. Dear son of the late Lothar and Ebba von Saleski. Caring cousin of Ann Zajac and her husband Wayne of VA, John Silex and his wife Clara Jo of NV, Karl Silex and his wife Joan of MD.  Nephew of Maria Landau of MD. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on July 22, 2016, Friday  from 1-2 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. Funeral service will be celebrated on July 22, 2016, Friday at 2 PM in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, Hingham. Burial in High Street Cemetery, Hingham. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to one of the following:
