Abate, Priscilla J. (Joyce) of Kingston, formerly of Quincy, February 25, 2007. Beloved wife of Robert E. Abate of Kingston. Loving mother of Robert W. and his wife Johanna of CA, Susan P. and her husband Richard Wilson of Quincy, Mark F. and his wife Ellen of CA, Scott F. and his wife Deirdre of Plymouth and Christopher A. and his wife Jennifer of Stoughton. Cherished sister of William F. Joyce and his wife Carol of Middleboro and Marylou Joyce of Plymouth. Loving grandmother to 10 grandchildrem. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Thursday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Cremation will follow. Priscilla received the greatest enjoyment in her life from her loving family. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings and friends. She was an avid reader and enjoyed history. She could be seen frequently at the Thomas Crane Public Library. She participated in the Headstart Program and the Literacy Program with Quincy Public Schools. Mrs. Abate also volunteered her time as a teacher’s aide at Broad Meadows School in Quincy. Priscilla loved Sacred Heart Church and was baptized there just six years ago. Her family describes her as generous, loyal, loved by all and a loving mother. She had many interests including; poetry, painting, coin collecting, computers, geneology, astrology and astronomy. She and her husband Bob started a business together in 1985. They developed the first certification program for eyeglasses in the country. The company is called Lenstech, LLC. Mrs. Abate was a member of the Quincy Art Association. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1952 and received an associates degree from Quincy College in 1989. Donations in memory of Mrs. Abate may be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360.
