Burke, Phyllis E. (Griffin) of North Quincy, 93, passed away August 24, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late John E. Burke. Loving mother of Elizabeth A. Amancio of Attleboro, Robert L. Burke of Pawtucket, RI. Stephen P. Burke of Plymouth, and Claire M. Burke of North Quincy. Sister of the late Dorothy Harvey, Ruth Anderson, and Alice Griffin. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and the late Gregory Burke, and 8 great-grandchildren. Aunt of Ellen Harvey Nackley of Norton whom she raised through her childhood years, and many nieces and nephews. Born in Boston, She had lived in North Quincy for many years. An avid Bingo player, Phyllis was always found playing on Monday evenings at Quincy Cathoiic Academy in North Quincy and she also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, and always enjoyed spending outings with her sisters at the Boston YMCA outing club at East Hill in New Hampshire. Phyllis loved spending time with her family and will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
