Phyllis B. Mccarthy

Phyllis B. McCarthy, a longtime resident of Braintree passed away peacefully June 18, 2022 surrounded by her family and faithful feline companion, Elliot, at the age of 91.

Phyllis was an avid dancer in her younger years and it was hard getting her off the dance floor, whether it was at Mosley’s or Bobby Hackett’s.  When she wasn’t dancing she always kept herself busy, whether it be it with her family, on a cruise, or  at Messina Enterprises where she worked over 30 years.

Phyllis was the loving mother of three daughters, Elaine Moore and her husband Russell of Rockland, Lynne McCarthy and Brian Bennett of Braintree and Allyson Keough and her husband George of Braintree.  She was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Her face always lit up when they were brought up in conversation over a hot cup of Brueggers coffee. Phyllis is also survived by several nieces and was the sister of the late Patricia Bernier of Hingham. She will be forever missed.

Family and friends are invited to her visitation on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 2 – 4 PM at McDonald Keohane Funeral Home 809 Main Street, Weymouth, MA and a Funeral Mass on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 10 AM  at St. Clare’s Parish 1244 Liberty Street, Braintree, MA.

Burial to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery.
