Philip W. “Phip” Hunt

Hunt, Philip W. “Phip” of Hull, formerly of Rockland, died Friday, May 14, 2010 at home after a long period of failing health. He was 81. Phil is the son of the late Harold and Phyllis (Callaghan) Hunt. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was a self employed contractor for over fifty years. Mr. Hunt is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret “Peggy” (Medico) Hunt; his six children Sandra Minelli, Diane Marchione, Philip Hunt, Jr., Donna Sjolin, Joanne Lambert and Paul Hunt; and his sister Linda Ennis. He also has sixteen grandchildren, a great grandson and many nieces and nephews. He was also a brother of the late Roger, David and Leonard Hunt. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 5/18 from 9 – 11 AM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald Street, Hingham. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home at 11 AM. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery, Hull. A funeral reception will be held at Raffael’s at the Clarion Hotel, 45 Hull Shore Drive in Hull immediately following the burial. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Towns of Hingham and Hull Veteran’s Services, c/o Mr. Michael Cunningham, Director, Town Hall, 210 Central Street, Hingham, MA 02043.
