Philip M. Mazzola

Philip M. Mazzola of Weymouth, passed peacefully with family by his side on August 3, 2013 at the age of 88.

Philip, a WWII veteran in the U.S. Navy; worked as an electrician for New England Provision Company for many years and held multiple building licenses.  After retirement from NEPCO, he later enjoyed applying his skills at Work, Inc. in North Quincy. A “jack of all trades”, he never hesitated to assist a neighbor or family member in need. Devoted husband of 63 years to the love of his life, Rose Mazzola, whom he affectionately referred to as “Ro”; they resided in Weymouth for much of their married life, before moving to Sunrise Assisted Living in Cohasset. Under the care of the loving aides and staff, he enjoyed his time spent there.

Loving father of Philip Mazzola and his wife May of Wilmington, DE, Linda Mazzola and her husband, Daniel Nolan of Plymouth, Maryanne Cormier and her husband Michael of Hanover and Charles Mazzola and his wife Cathy of Attleboro. Brother of Concetta “Connie” Voyce of Peabody, and the late Virginia Tsunis, Lucia Bialobreski, and Josephine DiGiacomo. Known as “Grampa” and “PopPop” to his 9 adoring grandchildren whom he loved spending time with.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home South Weymouth at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association via http://www.alz.org.
