Thorburn, Peter Thomas of Hull, died unexpectedly at home on December 31, 2010. Loving son of the late William T. and Virginia A. (Stonely) Thorburn, and brother of the late Jeffrey W. Thorburn. Peter is survived by his loving sisters and brothers: Patricia A. Thorburn of Hull, Joanna Radding of Scituate, David C. Thorburn of Marietta, GA, Andrew G. Thorburn of Hull, John Scott Thorburn of Weymouth, and his nieces and nephews: Linn and Will Thorburn, Lukas and Chloe Thorburn, and Jeff, Chris, and Scott Radding. Born February 13, 1955, Peter was a lifelong resident of Hull. He was an avid sports fan and collector of sports memorabilia. Peter was multi talented and over the course of his career, Peter wore many hats, candymaker, steel fabricator, handyman, home inspector, and property manager. For years he was active in the Hull Senior softball league, as a player, manager and advocate for field improvements. Peter was devoted to his family. He had a heart of gold, and was always available to help a friend in need. Peter had a love of life, and was devoted to living it on his terms. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 AM. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Peter may be made to Joslin Juvenile Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.
